Russian Billionaires’ Wealth Rises by $20 Billion in a Year — Pavel Durov Leads the Gains

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the combined wealth of Russia’s top billionaires has increased by $ 20 billion over the past 12 months. Leading the growth is Telegram founder Pavel Durov, whose fortune rose by $ 3.27 billion to reach $ 14.3 billion. This solidifies his position as one of the fastest-growing private tech capital holders in the region.
Vladimir Potanin, president of Interros and co-owner of Norilsk Nickel, remains the wealthiest Russian billionaire. His fortune grew by $ 2.56 billion to $ 30.4 billion. In second place is Lukoil co-owner Vagit Alekperov, with a net worth of $ 26.5 billion (+$ 1.2 billion year-on-year).

Closing out the top three is Alexey Mordashov, the main shareholder of Severstal, whose fortune increased by $ 1.94 billion over the year to $ 25.2 billion.
The overall rise in wealth is attributed to strengthening asset values amid stabilization in the commodities sector and the adaptation of new business models to sanctions pressure and domestic demand. The focus is increasingly on companies with high levels of autonomy, flexible ownership structures, and long-term alignment with sovereign capital.
