Aeroflot Puts Historic Kuznetsky Most Property Up for Sale

Russian flag carrier Aeroflot has decided to sell two properties at the beginning of Moscow’s Kuznetsky Most, located at 3 Kuznetsky Most, buildings 1 and 2, with a total area of nearly 1,000 square meters. The premises once housed the airline’s flagship ticket office, which closed in 2015. The properties remain under Aeroflot’s ownership but have now been put up for auction as a single lot with a starting price of 900 million rubles. The auction is scheduled for August 7.
These spaces have been on the market before: in 2013, the company attempted to sell the asset for 343.5 million rubles. The renewed sale effort today may be linked to Aeroflot’s need to reallocate resources following the aftermath of a major cyberattack, which experts estimate caused damages of up to $ 50 million.
Currently, Aeroflot maintains just two operating sales offices in Moscow—on 1st Tverskaya-Yamskaya Street and Frunzenskaya Embankment—as well as two ticket counters at Sheremetyevo Airport.
